YouTube Thumbnail Downloader
Save an available video cover for a reference board or your own workflow.
Retrieve the image associated with a YouTube video
A thumbnail can be useful when checking your channel's visual consistency or assembling references. Enter the video link to view the available cover versions. The tool retrieves existing images from Google's image services; it does not design a new thumbnail or improve a low-resolution source.
How to use it
Paste a YouTube link, load the available thumbnails and choose an image to download.
Practical example
When comparing covers from your own channel, collect the same available size for each video. This makes lettering and composition easier to compare. If a high-resolution cover is unavailable, choose another supplied version instead of treating a stretched image as HD.
What to know before you start
Resolution depends on the video. Requests use Google image services; downloading an image does not grant reuse rights.
Questions about this tool
Can I use a YouTube Shorts link?
Shorts links, standard watch links and youtu.be links are supported when they contain a valid video ID.
Why is the highest-resolution cover missing?
The video may not have that image version. Available resolution depends on YouTube's stored cover, and the downloader cannot create missing detail.
Does downloading a cover grant permission to reuse it?
No. Check ownership and the intended use separately. Access to an image is not a license to publish someone else's artwork.
