A subtitle file is arranged for playback, not for reading an interview or preparing notes. This cleaner extracts the dialogue in its original order. Choose separate lines when you need to inspect each cue, or continuous text when you want to edit the transcript as prose.
How to use it
Paste subtitles or open an SRT file, then copy or download the cleaned text.
Practical example
A cue containing a sequence number, 00:00:01,000 → 00:00:03,000 and a greeting becomes just the greeting. For interview notes, start with line mode: it is easier to notice a missing sentence before joining everything into one paragraph.
What to know before you start
This removes subtitle timing; it does not transcribe audio or correct the dialogue.
Questions about this tool
Can I upload a video instead of an SRT file?
This tool reads existing subtitles. To create a transcript from speech first, use Video Transcription, then clean or edit the exported text here.
Will music labels and formatting remain?
HTML-style tags and content inside square brackets are removed, including labels such as [Music]. Keep the source file if those accessibility notes matter.
Does article mode rewrite the dialogue?
It joins cues and adds basic capitalization and punctuation. It does not summarize, translate or correct the speaker's wording; review sentence boundaries yourself.
